Description
“People are made up of very diverse lines and they don’t necessarily know which line within themselves they are in, nor where they should direct this line which they are tracing: In short, there is a whole geography within people, with hard lines, flexible lines, convergent lines…” G. Deleuze
Based on this reflection, Perrine Valli orchestrates a formal research process whose underlying thread is the leitmotiv. Her series of six spaces delineated with paper strips provides scenographic constraints that give rise to several short and minimalist yet infinitely rich and nuanced choreographed works. Inspired by Aurélie Nemours’ pictorial work, Perrine Valli experiments with unity and multiplicity, variation and repetition, and the union of similar and different things. The contexts become characters in themselves, featuring as many stories as there are movements. A subtle reflection on the conditioning of movement by space, its influence on movement and the meaning it confers to it.
